OP here. It is just so stressful for me because on top of the TTC madness, I don't want to have to deal with her crazy too. This is not going to be a fun year.

Tell MIL you are infertile. That will shut her up for a bit. Atleast it is just email, you can ignore her.

No, she sounds literally crazy. OP is not pregnant. It would be different if OP was pregnant with a GIRL and MIL said "I bought her an outfit yesterday, I am so excited and I look forward to holding her as much as possible!"

Mentioning jealousy and purchasing gender-based clothing for a child that has not yet been conceived is nutty, IMO.

I think you should respond "Dear MIL, I think you should know that Desdemona will have projectile vomiting, croup, and reflux. Her gas will also smell so bad that we will be asked to move by the HOA. Just wanted you to be prepared. Love, your DIL."

OP here. She is not joking at all. I WISH it was a joke. No boundaries with this woman.

Np here. I'm sure she wasn't joking. There are people like this. My MIL hated the fact that I had a nanny when kids were young (I sah now). She also resented the fact that we said she had to call before she came over. She still brings it up occasionally -- 11 years later.

Sounds like she was joking.

Wow. I know my MIL is a little nutty, but wow. here is an excerpt from an email she sent to me today. I am not pregnant and TTC. There will likely not be any baby for years. MIL has decided that the hypothetical baby is a girl and she already has a terrible name picked out for this baby that DH and I have long since vetoed.

"I can see me being mad and jealous when she is with others. No one will be able to take care of that child well enough. Honestly, I almost bought an outfit I saw in Macy's the other day - a pink seersucker one piece thing. It was adorable."

Heaven help me.
