HOA? Check the rules because you may be held to that standard.
OP here. No, definitely no HOA. Part of the reason we bought in this neighborhood!
I'd love to tell him to mind his own business, but we live next door, so I'm trying to do the 'right'/civil thing.

My mom is always telling me I should spray the weeds and keeps giving me round up, but I refuse to use it because I have 2 kids and 2 cats. I do my best to pull the weeds in the flower beds, mow often, and hack at the stuff that comes in from the neighbor's fences.
FYI, my son actually loves to mow the lawn with me (he has a mini mower he pushes) and likes to help me in the garden and weeding. So you can make it fun and get something done at the same time.
OP here-
We definitely keep the lawn mowed and try to keep the flower beds weeded (to some extent). And, the kids do like doing it. But, do people actually manually get out and weed the entire lawn? We've got those 'white' weeds that come up. No idea what they are, but they're pretty visible. And, the neighbor seems to really be upset by the crabgrass (I think that's what it is) because he's complaining that it makes it way over to his yard.
