I just made Hungry Girl vegetable so low mein using the shirataki noodles (miracle noodles), and it was really good! Lots of veggies, and the sauce is delicious. Anyway, just thought I would share.

I only eat them in Japanese dishes. I can't imagine trying to use them as a pasta substitute!

They are ok in Japanese food like yosenabe (a stew). I would never eat them in Western dishes. They just aren't that great -- they have little flavor of their own and the texture would be odd if you were expecting pasta.

Agree with PP, they taste like nothing, but the texture is weird. I think they are more for the extreme dieter. Yick.

I had the same reaction about the texture as PP. They did nothing to satisfy my taste for pasta, though maybe if I wasn't thinking of them as a pasta substitute, I might have been fine with them.

I heard rave reviews so I tried them. The taste is fine, but the texture is so odd I couldn't finish them. Its almost but not quite gelatinous.

Have you used them in any recipes? How do they taste?
