Maple Ave. market in Vienna

Wegmans...all of them

Whole Foods

None of these places deliver I realize, 2 of them are major supermarkets in this area. These aren't specialty items in this area.

Falls Church farmer's market has at least one if not two vendors that sell it. But if you're insisting on delivery, it's going to be a lot tougher.

Polyface is wonderful and actually pretty well-priced. They sell bulk "larder" packages (if you have a deep freeze) which makes it even more affordable. The eggs are delicious as well.

Natural by Nature and Trickling Springs have good grass-fed dairy products. I believe Trickling Springs does the house brand milk for several area health food/co-op type stores (eg. M.O.Ms).

The Arlington Farmer's market would be a good place to start. I haven't been in ages so I can't direct you to specific vendors but you should be able to find good stuff there. Saturday mornings.

I love the Dupont Circle Freshfarms markets on Sunday - there are plenty of grass-fed meat purveyors there. I know that isn't in Arlington, though, and if you're not able to shop on Sunday between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., that's a problem.

There's a Freshfarms coming to Ballston at the end of this month. You may want to check it out once it opens. http://freshfarmmarkets.org/farmers_markets/markets/ballston.php

This service allows you to purchase from several local farms and they deliver:

Let's Meat on the Avenue (http://www.letsmeatontheavenue.com/home) in Del Rey probably has grass-fed. Just a great all-around butcher shop.

Union Meats in Eastern Market has a limited amount of grass-fed meats. Even if it's not grass-fed, it's better than anything you can find in a grocery store.

Not delivery to your house , but Polyface will deliver orders to drop off locations in South and North Arlington.

Totally worth it.

Why delivery? Because you aren't sure they have it in markets around you? I think there are a lot of grass fed beef butchers around now. Anyway, I know whole foods sells grass fed beef and yogurt/milk. At least some of them do.

Just looking for a local farm. Whole foods usually doesn't have local, correct? Plus I don't do all my shopping at Whole Foods and with a local delivery farm, I wouldn't have to go to several different stores with my kids in tow.

Is that different than the grass-fed beef and milk they have at Whole Foods?

Hello. I am trying to transfer my family to a "real food" diet and am looking for a place around here, preferably that delivers, that has grass-fed dairy and meat. I would like it to be organic, although that can just be in theory since I know a lot of local farms follow organic farming but don't have the distinction due to the cost involved in being labeled "organic."

Suggestions??
