Rockville Presbyterian on West Montgomery Avenue (near west end Rockville) is a great small church. It is very progressive in its thinking and preaching.

If you can make it over to Takoma Park, Takoma Park Presbyterian Church is very liberal. Also, they are a "More Light" (I think that's the name) congregation, which means they welcome gays. There are some teens, although not a lot.

Presbyterian or similar protestant or non-denominational church is fine. Main interests are lots of activities for families, especially teens...friendly, and good preaching. Commitment to social justice and local outreach a plus. TIA.
