Sorry, I meant to say that our daughter will turn 5 in late October and that we would like to start her in kindergarten.

My friend whose DD has a late October b-day struck out due to the late b-day. She found that the schools followed the Oct. 15 for test in. She did not look at Montessori.

A neighbor did just that with a late October birthday at Oneness-Family School. It was about 5 years ago, though, not sure if their policy has changed.

When our daughter turns four in late October, we would like to start her in kindergarten.

She is out of the 6 week MCPS petition period (her birthday is after 10/15).

Does anyone have any experience doing this?

Any idea what specific private or Montessori schools in Montgomery County that would accept her at this age for kindergarten and then first grade? Preferably not too far from Bethesda, but the names of any schools would be great.

Our plan is to then transfer her into public school in second grade.

Please, with utmost respect, I am not looking for opinions on why you think this is or is not a good idea. I am seeking responses from people who have experience or specific knowledge on achieving this goal and specific schools that would allow this.
