The work environments there are decent - people tend to stay for awhile once they find a niche. OCFO has lots of positions open now.

Thanks for the feedback. What are your thoughts on OCFO and DISB in terms of work environment?

I'm an attorney @ OAG and have worked w/ OIG pretty frequently. Oag is ok depending upon what section you are in. With your experience, have you thought of checking out ocfo or disb?

Anyone? Any OAG attorneys with opinions on other District agencies? Thanks!

OP here--work/life balance isn't bad, although we have busy times (a couple months a year) when I end up working an extra hour or two most nights.

I'm currently in a DC government agency and considering applying for positions in other DC government agencies, but most of them don't seem to be run particularly well. Any thoughts from current DC government employees on the pros and cons of working for your particular agency would be appreciated.

Me: DC OIG
Pros: The theory (improving government performance) is nice, but see below.
Cons: My boss makes me want to shoot myself, and it takes so long for a report to get approved and issued. I also feel like the agencies we audit don't do much based on our recommendations.
