If the swim team is a member of the NVSL, then you have to be a member or renter (or HOA member) at the pool. I'm guessing that Reston teams don't swim in the NVSL.

You usually have to be a member of the pool. Where I live you can get a single membership for about $200 and then another $75 for the team. No wait list to join the pool.

Incorrect. Anyone can join Reston teams. And there are several within RSTA.

Check the Upton Hills Pool (very nice public pool in N. Arlington on Wilson, I think) website - I am not sure how they handle it, but I think they have a swim team. You may have to buy a season pass. Everyother private pool makes you join to be part of the swim team. My friends found a reasonable one without a wait list. It is not hyper competitive and the price is not as bad as others. It is behind "loeman's Plaza" on Rt. 7, I think.

Does anyone know of any pool you can join and pay just for the swim team?
