No.

No. Upper class Africans have not been subjected to the instutuionalized racism in America that creates the need for affirmative action.

lol, so once a black person immigrates to the US, are they not subject to the same form of RACISM that is an obstacle to success or not? they are the same race, so they would presumably face the same racism when applying for a job, looking for housing, or attending schools.

They are not from generation upon generation of broken families because slaves were sold like property. The lack of strong family ties and positive cultural outlook goes to the heart of some of the worst problems with AAs and achievement.

broken families have nothing to do with racism. that is crazy. because of RACISM black men and women decide not to get married? are you kidding me with this bullshit? racism is about RACE. that is it, that is the definition. An immigrant from Nigeria is the same race as an AA. If they can achieve, using public education and hard work, then that means that racism is not an obstacle to success.

Just curious... I thought black families were relatively intact throughout the 20th century until the late 60s/early 70s. Just like white families.

I challenge that.....racism is about power. Regardless of what part of planet earth you immigrate to the US from, the issues is whether those in power chose to your race as a filter by which to deny or limit rights, opportunity, or benefits to you. I am also of the opinion (as a African-born American) that most racists could give two sh*ts whether I was born in Africa or Anacostia - they are racists! However, more enlightened racists might use the filter of African vs AA to feel justified in their behavior. My thoughts.

No, asshole, they are not subjected to the same form of racism and are well aware that they are not. Africans are free to process American slavery objectively. Actually, they're perceived as harmless, easier to deal with, and far less prone to retaliation, unless, of course, they're Somalians.

That is old news that the Ivies ... (Harvard and all of the others) prefer Africans to African Americans. They prefer the intense work habits of the immigrant populations.
