3.5 -- it's much safer RF and she was fine crossing her legs.

Ours are 3 and 1, and both still rear-facing. I intent to keep them rear-facing as long as possible - probably until age 4 or 5.

Mine is 2.5 and still rear facing. At her recent well visit she was 36 inches tall...she has never complained about it and her legs do not look particularly scrunched. Her carseat can rear face until she weighs 40 pounds so we can leave her this way for awhile!

1. Her pediatrician gave the okay; weight wise she was within the threshold and her legs were just so cramped. It made life so much easier and she began to actually enjoy being in the car. I will be honest, until I moved here, I had never heard of people waiting until 2+ to go forward facing.

2 years. DS was off-the-charts tall. Their legs are scrunched up, so what. They're not little adults--they are much more flexible and tend to put themselves in positions when relaxing or sitting that aren't what we'd choose as adults. I wouldn't let the leg thing be an issue unless you see active discomfort from it.

Around 15 months. Mine hated RF. I can't imagine mine having tolerated it until 3.5. Also, I never heard that it was safer after age 2. The move from 1 to 2 years for RF recommendation change happened right around the time I moved mine to FF and I do t think I even knew of the change until much later.

1 year for both kids. They prefer it that way and so do I.

We turned at a year.

My ds was 37 inches at his 2yr appt and is still rear facing a couple months later.

My daughter is 3.5 and 90% height. Still RFing. She's fine, prefers crossing or bending her legs to having them hang when she is FFing.

We turned them around at about 15 months. They were not scrunched (have the radian which didn't seem to bother them unlike the marathon carseat). But the recommendation was not in place yet at the time. We have a third on the way and guess we will wait until 2 years.

Your daughter can cross her legs. We didn't turn the seat until DD was 3.5. She never complained.

Yes. We turned it at 2. DS was taller than your DD and didn't mind the scrunchy legs. He sat sort of frog style.

I know the recommendation is 2 years old but my LO's legs are all scrunched up at this point. She's appx. 33 inches tall and at least 18 months. Did many of you wait until the two year mark?
