I am no hockey expert (but my friend's kids play hockey) and I was under the impression they pay about $1500 per season. Travel for hockey is farther and requires plane trips while most soccer travel is within driving distance and you can often return on the same day.
If you want to play intermural soccer the fees are much less expensive - more like $200 a season and mostly people only play fall and/or spring.
Rockville has a great introduction to Hockey that is $180 per session and the kids get the equipment but once you want to join a team I heard it was $1200/season for intermural. Correct me if I am wrong.
We did the introduction and quickly exited stage left.

It changes depending on age.
I am not sure if this includes all the tournament fees. You would probably call/email the coach and ask.
Didn't realize soccer fees were so close to hockey. I would of thought it be a whole lot less...
