I can understand being misguided at 20 or 30 because you think you know everything. But at 50...I don't care if you weigh 100 lbs...have some decency!

It's anti-bikini-lady again!

Personally, I don't think wearing a 2 piece should be a matter of age, it should be a matter of fitness. I see plenty of 20-somethings at our neighborhood pools who are far too heavy and/or out of shape to be trying to pour themselves into a bikini. Ugh.

If you are 50 or over and are fit, then I think there is nothing wrong with wearing a tasteful 2 piece swimsuit.

As for Helen Mirren, she looks fan-freaking-tastic!

I don't care how great your body is or how much "work" you have done......NOBODY over 50 looks good in a 2 piece. A well fitted one piece is sexier and classier, hands down. On the other hand, when we we traveled to Greece, I purchased just a bathing suit bottom to enjoy the beach topless.
A girl has to have fun, but please stop scaring my teenage sons!

I am 50 and haven't worn a 2 piece since my 20's. I am sure my fellow beachgoers are grateful for that. I've got friends who look great in 2 pieces though. And I definitely see younger people who should not be showing their flabby middle.

If you've got the body for a 2 piece, go for it!

Look at Helen Mirren. I wish I looked this fabulous now (33)

I agree, it's not the age, it's the body. Helen Mirren is absolutely smokin'.

And by the way, Helen Mirren turned 50 back in 1995, a mere 17 years ago.

I think it's acceptable in many cases. Though I have done a lot of traveling in S. America where you see women of all sizes wearing bikinis. This is largely true in Europe as well. It's actually quite refreshing. So OP, if you're in pretty good shape and the suit is flattering, go for it! God the idea of not wearing a bikini when I'm older makes me sad!!

54 here. Up at 4:13 because I am getting dressed to go running. Why did I check DCUM? I look better now than I did 20 years ago and I wear a 2 piece. But only when out of town on vacation so no one I know sees me!

I think it's acceptable in Europe where older folks don't give a damn. Flaunt your bad self if you so choose. Blindness to all the haters.

I guess you don't mean a tankini, huh?...asks the 52-year old.

If you are in pretty good, but not amazing shape? I probably won't but just wondered what people think?
