I agree that if you're still not seeing well today you should go back. You've already given it 24 hours! I've worn glasses since age 7, and if you're seeing better out of your old glasses, it sounds like something might be up.

If it isn't rigHt in a day, go back. FYI, they do more measurements and cut the lenses with greater precision at the more expensive shops. If you have a simple perscription, it doesn't matter where you go, but if things are more complicated, it does.

Even progressives shouldn't take more than a day.

My dad's an ophthalmologist and he messed up my prescription once! It happens. I'd go back in a day or so.

For me it usually takes about 3 days, every time. Have been wearing glasses since I was 10.

Progressive lenses, especially narrow progressive lenses, can do this.

What kind of prescription did you get?

I agree, if you aren't used to them in a few hours, something is likely wrong. My father got a new pair of glasses once, and they had accidentally reversed the prescription(Instead of +2.5, it was -2.5 or something like that).

I posted something similar about a year ago and it turned out that the optical center on the lens was incorrect. I'd give it a day and then go back.

14:13 is right - I've had new glasses that were fitted wrong (lens too high, lens too low on my face). The glasses had to be sent back to be re-fitted (the lens were re-ground and put into the frame again).

You know it fits wrong when you take off the glasses and things look different (differently sized, you have a headache, or one side feels "closer" than the other side).

For me, one day. Sometimes the prescription is right but the glasses aren't the right distance from your face.

I picked up my new prescription (frames and lenses) today and I am worried the prescription might not be right. I feel like my eyes take a long time to adjust and things just look very different. The salesperson said don't drive with them and get used to them first and that it could take a day or two. But how long does that typically take for you all? I wear glasses 24/7. The prescription did change. Sometimes words appear sharp and people not so much. I had blurriness with my old pair and was expecting better clarity and sharpness and am disappointed and worried. Other times everything is just not sharp.
