Thanks everyone. I appreciate your responses. I was tested about 5 days after ovulation, so the numbers seem terrible to me. Though, on the bright side, it confirms there is an issue and that supposetories might be in order. Thanks again.

After two miscarriages, I was tested and had a progesterone of 7, my OB said that most people with progesterone under 10 don't even get pregnant, and that most need over 12 and ideally over 15 to stay pregnant.

My OB gave me prometrium and I've had two successful pregnancies since then.

Agree with the PP; it totally depends on where you are in your cycle. My office says they like you to be over 12 if you are past ovulation. The higher, the better after ovulation. But your progestone levels at the early part of your cycle, say on Day 3, would be very low.

I f I remember correctly after ovulation and IUI my progesterone was around 17 and they seemed to think that was enough to confirm ovulation and good response in the uterus. After IVF my progesterone was 90 at my first beta! I think thats super high but I was on progesterone supplemants and I am currently 9 weeks pregnant. They haven't tested it since that one time. Im no expert and you will probably get a huge range of responses here but yes, your number seems low. But so much depends on where you are in your cycle. If its early then they should be low but once you ovulate they should begin to increase and if you are pregnant they should increase significantly.

I was tested for progesterone and was told that I registered 3.12 - the range is between 2.5 and 28. I spoke to the nurse at my OB's office and she wouldn't tell me if these numbers were low or not .... They seem pretty darn low to me. Nurse wants me to speak to the doctor, which I'll do, but I'm wondering if this means I have low progesterone.

Have others been tested? What were your numbers? Just trying to get some idea of whether this is in the truly normal range or if there's a problem. TIA!
