Town of Vienna parks and Rec has a summer program.

Also, since you are looking toward summer 2013, get yourself on the Summer SACC wait list as soon as signups for next summer are allowed.

Not sure where in Vienna you are, but if you are further north closer to Tysons then TCCC (Tysons Corner Children's Center) is a good option.

Also, if your daughter had gotten into the after kindergarten SACC program that was cancelled when the schools went to full day (ie for Flint Hill, Wolftrap, and Vienna), all those children are automatically guaranteed an afterschool SACC spot in the fall.

You are in the school already with a kindergartener, correct? Just stop by the front office to check. They certainly know which buses come to pick kids up. Our school has little signs for each. Not sure what the security issue would be.

Good suggestions. Do you know where I can get a list of the pick-up after school care places? I really like that idea...do I call the school? I thought they werent supposed to give that info out for security reasons?

There are many choices for the summer. You'll probably want to wait to find out what other families are doing at the school for next summer. As for aftercare, are you part of Vienna Moms? There is a group of working moms that is part of the Vienna Moms that could help you. Also, if you call your local school, they should also be able to give you a list of aftercare places that pick up at the school. There are also some other schools that are expanding their area. We live In Vienna and have not been able to get my daughter into her elementary school's summer SACC program. My husband and I both work full-time. Thankfully, this summer, my parents who love nearby will watch my daughter. However, in order to not be better prepared next year, does anybody have suggestions on FT programs? I would rather not to do the weekly camps, but an entire summer camp or daycare. She is a rising 1st grader and I would be open to anywhere around the Vienna, Oakton, even Fairfax (East).
