It's really cutting their nose off to spite their face. Both the CE and the Council will treat the Maintenance of Effort funding mandate as a ceiling and not a floor. For years to come, I'm sure.

Fairfax County School Board member Kathy L. Smith (Sully) said she voted against the budget because she wanted to dedicate more funding to salaries. “Our teachers are working harder and harder every year,” she said.
So MCPS is not the only one to support its teachers.
