That's not quite right. There are public preschool options, but there is no guarantee that you'll get in. The odds are not in your favor if you're over a certain income. Still, it's worth looking into.

Moving on: Do you want to be able to walk to preschool? How much preschool do you want for your child? Daily? Full day? Do you have an interest in Montessori or something else?

There are lots of great preschools in that area, but some of them run really long waiting lists (eg Mt Olivet). The application process is usually Jan/Feb timeframe.

We'll be moving to Arlington next year when DC will be 4. I would appreciate any feedback on pre-K programs in or around the Key/Science Focus boundary. Thanks
