Hmmm. Personally I would want the Caribbean, even though there would be a threat of hurricanes. I might do a short cruise with a nursery/babysitting options to have a night out or two just with DH. Plus, cruises just change their routes or schedules for storms, and therefore can miss them all together.

Given the warm winter and early spring my guess would be it would be earlier. But you never know. It is always a guess this early.

It is hurricane season in the carribean so you will be taking a chance with PR, St John and Bermuda.

If you warm and not worry as much, curacao and aruba are better bets. However the flight is longer.

San diego is a great family place for a vacation.

You could also do vt/upstate ny for a fall foliage getaway.

Vegas sucks for little kids. I know they advertise it as "family friendly", but that's pretty much B.S. 2nd-hand smoke EVERYWHERE, it's hot outside, and they are not even supposed to be in the casinos.

My 40th bday is on a Friday and I just realized DS's daycare is closed the following Monday and Tuesday. The stars may be aligning for a 40th bday getaway for the family.

It will be the end of September/beginning of October and DS will be just one year. What immediately popped to mind were: Vegas, Puerto Rico, St. John, and Bermuda but I am looking for other suggestions. It'll be a short trip. I'd like to go somewhere we could get to early Saturday morning and have most of Saturday there, be there all day Sunday and Monday, then back Tuesday afternoon.
