This is a great idea. Took a flight over Memorial Day weekend where one 4yo had to dash to the bathroom in the middle of the safety demo, which meant they had to suspend it, because they can't do it unless all passengers are seated. On the descent, a different kid had to go after the seatbelt sign had gone on and the FAs had done the departure check.

I forgot personal care products for me and had to go buy supplies when my period arrived while traveling solo with a curious 4 year old.

I bought a surprise gift to pull out half way through the trip. It was something he had wanted forever and it kept him busy for hours.

activities while in the car and on the plane? I Spy books are great, sticker books too.

This. I always put together a mini first-aid type kit and a mini personal-care kit. I'd also include ibuprofen for fevers and nail clippers.

-charger for ipod
-charger for your cell phone
-change of shirt for you
-light sweater for her if she's cold on the plane
-gum or sucker to keep her ears from popping

-hat, sunscreen
-lovey if she sleeps with one

remember: she won't have to take off her shoes at security because she's under 12.

Heading out for a week with my four-year-old, to include a six-hour flight and lots of driving to tourist sites on the other end. It'll be just the two of us, so I won't have someone to send out to buy stuff after she's asleep, like the time I forgot her inhaler (which she uses like, twice a year. Of course she needed it the time I forgot it.) and her doc called a new one in to the nearest 24 hour drugstore.

Got the ipod, loaded with cartoons and games. Got the kids ibuprofen. Got the go-gurt in the freezer, and other plane snacks. Got the deck of cards. Got the clean shirt in the carry-on, for when she spills on the one she's wearing.

What have you forgotten while traveling with small children, that I shouldn't forget this trip?
