His failure to plan does not make it an emergency for you.

Wow. I'd love to have the pp.'s on my team. C'mon, really? Haven't you ever laid one on your significant other at the last minute?

Just the tone of pp.'s implies a lack of unity/everyman for himself attitude. Why not just suggest that they hit the supermarket together on the way and pick up some hummus and chips?

People love devilled eggs. Do it.

Chips and hummus or other dip?

You could do caprese skewers if it's a BBQ - alternate cherry tomato, basil leaf, cherry mozzarella.

Big fruit salad -- just cut up your choice of fruit and put in a nice bowl.

Caprese salad - sliced mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, drizzled with olive oil. Delicious and SUPER easy.

Bean salsa - buy salsa and mix with a can of rinsed black beans. Serve with tortilla chips.

Cubes of watermelon in light balsamic vinagrette (really brings out the flavors!). Use the vinagrette very lightly!

Grr. My sweet husband just informed me that we need to bring an appetizer to the cookout we are going to in 4 hours. Help. The only thing I can think of is deviled eggs. I need easy.
