Don't re-cook shrimp. If you cook seafood, eat it within 24-36hrs (6-9hrs if not refrigerated).

And yes, thaw in cold water. Warm/hot water will COOK the shrimp (turn red).

Of course you can use the ones you already have. Just thaw, marinate and put on skewers to brown them and warm them up on the grill.

I agree with the PP. Buy uncooked frozen shrimp. I get mine at the WF, peeled and deveined. Usually, I soak them in hot water, changing it frequently, until they are defrosted. I don't spend more than 30 min on this. I'm in the kitchen at the time and don't leave them out defrosting. Then I marinate and grill.

I'm no superman in the kitchen, but this system has worked for me.

Why not just buy uncooked frozen shrimp? I'm afraid they will be overlooked and rubbery if you recook them. I've never done this before, just guessing!

I have a really good marinade I bought that I want to use on shrimp. I have cooked frozen ones in the freezer. Can I defrost, marinate and then grill them even though they are technically already cooked?
