I bought a free-standing toilet paper holder, that is open on one side so I don't have to deal with the damn spring-loaded thing.

In my house, I'm the only one that realizes there is a trash can in the kitchen. DH must get so distracted opening food items that he thinks the packaging magically vanishes.

We have extra toilet paper in each bathroom. I keep it pretty well stocked but every once in a while we will run out. So the other members of my family will use other bathrooms rather than restock, until they run out of stocked bathrooms. This happens when I travel for work. I will get home and find that they are all using the guest bathroom.

I am also the only person able to load the dishwasher.

Me too. I figured it was my law degree that made the difference because that's the only thing that sets me apart from everyone else who lives there.

I don't get it either. In my house, the toilet paper wouldn't ever make it up from the garage and stacked in convenient holders I place right next to the toilet. Couldn't be any easier. But no, I think he thinks the toilet paper fairy comes in or something.
That being said, he always fixes the whatever-it-is-that-makes-the-toilet-flush-thing which I would have no idea how to do, so it's all good!

My wife too. My question is WHY!!! You are just sitting there with nothing to do. You have the new toilet paper roll in your hand. Why NOT change it?

Haha ... It is a *rarity* that my DH will insert the new one. Even when there's the smallest wisp of paper left on it, the roll does not get changed!

Me too. Though I don't mind about the kids not changing it, because it's actually tricky (falls apart) and they're small.

Five people in my family. Only two change the roll (me and one of the 4 year olds). DH and two of the kids don't...it drives me nuts.

Ha! My DH does the same! I don't get it.

required to change the toilet paper on the roll. DW just stacks the new roll on top of the empty cardboard roll. The kids don't bother, either.

Is this some sort of mechanical engineering thing that's an inherently Dad requirement or something?
