Start practicing now.

In my experience, you can pretty much always count on getting your period when camping. I could go camping three weeks in a row, and I'd get my Little Friend. Every. Single. Time.

Yes, I used to lead wilderness trips and this was how we handled it...worked pretty well.

No pill, cannot take hormones due to blood clotting issues, but thanks for all the other tips. I think the ziploc and aspirin will make me feel I am at least trying to do something. As far as how I have managed privacy, you know, I often wonder the same thing. I guess at home, I just shut the door (at least once they were old enough to notice/care), and when we are outside of the home, I have them stand outside my stall with their feet showing. I was hoping for all the posters to come and tell me, "no way would I go" but alas, I guess dh might win this one

My son, who's 4, has handed me a tampon before and has asked where the blood is. How how you hidden this all these years? I envy your privacy.

So pack yourself a ziplock bag with tin foil and a few crushed aspirin. You use the tin foil to wrap your "used" items and the aspirin neutralizes the smell.

are you on the pill? if so, you can skip your period by just skipping the placebo pills and starting the next pack. I do this occasionally when I don't want to have my period on vacation.
