Like we're not living through this economy too? We know how uncomfortable people are with the appearance of things, so when we find the envelopes with nothing, or just a couple dollars we know the hump that person went over to let us know they're attending and we appreciate it. Sheesh, give your parish office a little credit here....

Did you check the archdiocese's website to see which parish you are in bounds for? I think if you are in a parish's boundaries then they will automatically give you sacraments, but if a parish isn't your geographic 'home parish' then some of them are kind of hard-assed about it, like you have to register and be a member in good standing for x many months (good standing meaning using your envelopes) before they will do any sacraments for you. We ran into this when dh and I got married. I don't have a first hand rec for your area - we live in the District in SE - but I do think that Holy Trinity iin G'town is more liberal re the sacraments/membership issue. INot around Bethesda but not terribly far either. GL

We need to locate a catholic church in or near Bethesda to baptize our son, hopefully where we can continue as parishioners for the coming years for his religious education and other sacraments. Which onesdo you know of and recommend? We'd prefer a more liberal congregation if that exists.
