I take Iron pills everyday bc my iron is low, but it seems like it only makes it worse.

Is one of your children still in an infant seat? I got terrible bruises on the outside of my thighs from carrying my infant seat. DH was totally freaked out until we figured out what was causing it.

So weird, I'm having the same thing. Had stopped taking vitamins and I wonder if that's the culprit..

That is me! I also use my leg to close lower cabinet drawers in the kitchen and that leaves a bruise if I bump into a handle.

I always bang my legs, shins on the weight machines at the gym. This is the cause of most of my bruising. I am clumsy by nature.

I was taking fish oil supplements - only because my DH suggested it. My endocrinologist (thyroid doctor) correctly diagnosed that was the culprit. If you think it's strange, you should have it checked. You know when it's from bumping something...doesn't sound like that's it. The primary dr will probably refer you to hemoglobin (spelling?) doctor.

Good luck!

Could be lack of vitamin C.

Hit send too soon -- you might want to think about any supplements you are taking.

OP here. I have 2 very active, tantrumy boys 3 and under, and they hurt me literally every 5 seconds. I'm tiny, they are huge (take after their dad). I carry and pull, hoist and lift, restrain, duck, and defend all day long. I most definitely bump into things along the way. So I know these are valid injuries, but I only seem to be bruising on my thighs.

Random bruising can also mean you are not getting enough of some vitamin or mineral (I cannot recall which). You say you are thin, so I feel that this is most likely the culpret. Years ago I went on a crash diet and I got huge bruises on my legs - it was because I wasn't eating right and if I just slightly bumped something it looked like someone beat me with a stick. Anyway, check your diet and make sure you are getting enough variety as well as simply "enough" food.

Yes, random bruises may indicate that you may have a blood disorder, namely a clotting problem. Go to the doctor, this may not be just a cosmetic issue.

I'm thin and fit, I don't know if that matters, and nearly 32. I keep getting random bruises on my thighs. It's so unsightly in a bathing suit, and I know it's superficial to even worry about it but I do! Why do I get these and is there anything I can do to either prevent them or fade them fast?
