A series of events honored America's law enforcement officers Saturday in D.C., including the running of the National Police Week 5K....

President Barack Obama honored the nation's top police officers on Saturday, paying tribute to their sacrifices and "quiet courage" in the line of duty.

Obama, joined by Vice President Joe Biden, praised the winners of a national police association award at a White House ceremony that honored 34 officers who showed valor in an assortment of tense standoffs, shootings and rescues.

I have no idea, but I noticed that downtown is chock full of police vehicles from outside the area, NY, PA, FL, etc. I was wondering if there is some kind of major law enforcement convention.

There were tons of police, looked like they were escorting these busses or providing some kind of ceremonial escort. I couldn't find anything on line.
