I posted this message EXACTLY the way I wanted and to whom I wanted it to reach.

I am fully aware of "majority black" virtual communities -- however, you might be surprised that we sometimes expand our horizons beyond those venues. IMO, your suggestion implies that you have a narrow-minded view of black people.

Speaking of narrow-minded, are you going to address how you state "we're" not monolithic and yet you're also sure the Democratic platform is more in line with "our" views?

blacks arent flocking to republicans as a result of this so there is really no worry.

we all dont think alike nor do all of us agree 100% with obama or the democrat party (i include myself in that camp. not in regards to gay marriage though) so this will pass and the folks upset today will be there in november voting for obama i imagine.

worse case, they dont vote at all. best case, they just arent jumping out there all into obama and getting folks excited about it but they will still vote for him in november

And they all vote exactly the same way on the issue? 100% of black voters vote against gay marriage? And they are the sole reason a same-sex marriage ban would pass?

Honestly, I am for same-sex marriage and am actually LGBT myself, but if I weren't, some same-sex marriage supporters are so damn off-putting that it would turn me off and cause me to not care.

Since President Obama came out in defense of gay marriage I've been hearing/reading that some black voters are reconsidering their voting support for him in November. This would be one big JACK ASS of a decision. DON'T GET IT TWISTED -- while you may not see eye-to-eye with the president on this issue, there is no doubt that his platform issues are more in-line with our views than the alternative. We are not a monolithic voting bloc and this will not be a "single-issue" election.
