OP, you say that you want to help people, but are you clear on whether you want to help people by practicing law in the US? If not, why do you mention your LLM? That's not really a useful degree if you're not planning to practice law. If being a lawyer is your goal, are you a member of the bar somewhere? If you're not, you need to be focused on passing a bar somewhere. And, to be blunt, in any event, you need to work on developing the language, writing and analytical skills to enable you to identify and clearly express, in specific and concrete terms, how you would like to "help people" to DCUM or [gasp], to potential employers.
