Also MoCo doesn't have any full magnet high schools. The magnets are programs within larger schools. so the magnet results get diluted by the overall population of the schools.
As Jay Mathews says, just to be ranked is a good thing. Being in the top 100-200 nationally is a pretty big deal and not sure there is that much of a difference between #57 and #83, or whatever. We are lucky that we have so many schools on both sides of the river where kids can get a great education.
