Such an ignorant comment.
Prep has strict academic standards. If a student belongs there and requires financial aid, the committee does everything in its power to accommodate the family.
Of the 8 boys that got admitted to Prep from DS class, 5 (including DS) turned them down. Of the 3 that are going, 1 is a mediocre student that happens to be a legacy and the other two are bottom of the class but the parents are well-connected and quite wealthy. So you can really stop beating the "academic standards" drum for we all know that Prep has been sitting on its laurels and has coasted for the past several years.
Oh, and I am not 20:03, but I do totally agree with her/him.

They have neither athletic or academic scholarships. This isn't college, so using collge terms is going to confuse the situation.
What they have is a pot of Financial Aid money set aside for appicants and current students. They distribute that money to boys that have a financial need and who apply for the aid.
They then distribute it. Once the money is gone it is gone.
