Principal at Travilah ES is horrible. She doesnt really care/love the kids. She only cares about numbers. Also, she is not a nice person in general. She often yelled at the staff and kids for no reason.
Do NOT try EEK at Travilah ES in North Potomac. Principal at the school is very horrible. When you go get the form for orientation, She will tell you that she will not accept EEK.

I'm not a fan of how she addresses parents at functions. I do get the feeling that she is trying to preemptively manage parents en masse and wants no intrusions into her kingdom. The teachers on the other hand are great. The PTA stuff is fun and very community oriented. At first I thought that the events were pretty cheesy and a little disorganized but this is the type of activity that kids love. Its much easier to participate in the activities and actually have fun than the more over the top stuff we saw/did at private school.
Many of our friends at StoneMill complain about it being too rigid and way too many worksheets. Travilah also has tons of worksheets but doesn't seem as rigid. Our friends at Wayside seem to get much better communication from the school about the curriculum, what is being taught etc.
There are a good number of sport activities and after school activities on the school grounds which are great.

Does that concern anyone? I only ask because it really surprised me to see an ES in a triangle of high power lines. How did that pass any sort of inspection?
