What is the Annex building at IT's new space? I'd that where Booker T Washington High School is now?

Wow, what a great spot to be in! I would choose Stokes for the immersion, followed by IT. Nice to hear that some people are lucky in the charter lotteries!

If language immersion is important, Stokes is your only choice. If that is not a factor, definitely Cap City!

I've heard that IT's new location is likely very long term if not permanent. They took over Meridian's lease and wants to renegotiate after the 2 years to ensure they getting best deal. They said that the school is large enough to accommodate through middle school including the annex building. I think what they say is pretty accurate being that they are putting so much $ into rooftop playground etc.

I would def. choose Cap City or IT over Stokes. Stokes over CM, since it doesn't exist yet.

Recent threads have mentioned how Cap City is experiencing some issues. Could be one or two angry parents, but there's almost always fuel where there's fire. Also they are expanding big time in a new location so it will be somewhat "new" as well. Tough call. There has been a bitter parent from Stokes too. If language were important, choose Stokes my personal opinion is that K may be a little late for language), if quality teaching then IT. Although IT is new, it has garnished much buzz for first year and it will likely be even bigger next year so this could be your only entry point. I have heard that IT has day tours with class visits, I am waiting to be accepted.

No kidding on playing the lottery. Holy cow.

How much does location matter to you? Cap city is on the other side of town from CM and IT. So that might be a factor that eliminates one/two.

Cap City has such a good track record. IT is only a year old, CM not started yet. So it is hard to compare. CM did recruit the arts teacher from Cap City, so that is exciting. Smaller classes there as well. But it is brand new and you can read from other threads that brand new can equal PITA on different levels.

My DS is going to K next year, leaving a Christian private school (only goes up to pre-k). He is of the top 5 on the waitlist for Cap City PCS, Stokes, Creative Minds and Inspired Teaching. I am pretty confident that it'll definitely be among, CM, IT and CCPCS (although I think that we have a good chance at Stokes too). But now that I am confident, I am also now indecisive. Can anyone weigh-in on the pros/cons of each school? What school would you choose? Do you know if the schools listed allow classroom observations with my prospective K student?

I am totally undecided about Creative Minds....I just randomly applied after reviewing the website but haven't visited yet.
