Agree with Polyface.

You can also hop on over to the newish Harris Teeter in Tysons (funny how I always forget it's there). They've got my personal favorite, Smart Chicken. Just scan the sale papers for when it's on special.

I second the Polyface suggestion. Absolutely worth the cost. All of their meat & poultry is delicious as well as their eggs.

You can also order from Polyface Farm and they have delivery points throughout the region every six weeks. Comes frozen.

There is also the farmers market which opens this Saturday for the season. You could check at Fresh Market too.

I'm toying with the idea of switching my family to hormone-free, local meats - mostly chicken breasts and ground beef, but also some pork and steak from time to time. I know it'll be pricier than buying whatever is at Safeway or Giant but I'm willing to spend a little more.

My questions for people who buy such meat in the area:
How much more expensive is it?
Where in Vienna would you recommend buying? I have seen it advertised in the Vienna Whole Foods, but I also know there is Maple Avenue Market, which I haven't yet visited. Any other suggestions?

TIA!
