It's just kids and glasses. It's not really an ADHD thing. Kids are hard on glasses.

I get new glasses every year for my kids. I usually find a two for one special. They get lost, broken, whatever.

I'm not ADHD and I needed new glasses at least once a year. My husband says that he was pretty much the same way.

Look at online eye glasses places. I got my last pair from Zenni optical. Much much cheaper!

One of my children is always losing her's so we go to an inexpensive optician -- one of those chains -- where they often have great prices for a second pair. I made the mistake of buying nicer frames at first.

You might also consider replacing the frames with the same ones, or the same shape, and just transferring the lenses. That will save you a ton of money. But if its been a tear its probably time to get a checkup from the eye doc an you might want to do that first in case her prescription has changed.

I think it isn't fair to ask a kid to wear glasses with parts missing, but nose pads and ear pieces are both replaceable. Take the glasses for a good tune up - replace the missing parts and get the fit adjusted. It will be worth a lot. It doesn't sound like you need to buy new ones yet, and that wouldn't make her more likely to wear them anyhow.

The lenses don't need replacing, but my daughter chewed the heck out of the ear pieces, one of the nose pads is missing, and she is very reluctant to wear them. We have had these frames a year... Is it over-indulgent to replace them? Or just the cost of kids with ADHD wearing glasses?
