I thought it was inaccurate in that it was as if the author gave 1 character every single possible Asperger's symptom. Also, the mother would probably have been told by behaviorists to work toward teaching the boy flexibility by that age.

Has anyone read this book? And does it seem like an accurate portrayal of a child with Asperger's?

This book really bothered me. It seemed like it might be describing a kid with high-functioning autism, but really read more like the author just read a list of possible autism symptoms, attached them to one character, and said he had Asperger's.

Or am I just not well-informed enough myself?
