I think we're all smart enough to see through it. But PP, if that isn't your plan, you may want to take a long break from DCUM, lest you undermine the reputation of the school you claim to adore.

The OP was looking for parents who were unsatisfied with IT. Someone, you perhaps, suggested they go to Family Fun Day. I doubt she will find unhappy parents at Family Fun Day. Whether she will find them on anonymous message board, I can't say. But I certainly didn't see any "rantings" on that thread. None here either, except, of course, from you.

There is a very fine line. Intelligence can often accompany entitlement which can be detrimental for a public school. My personal opinion is that many negative posts about various schools come from "intelligent" parents that think they know more than teachers and staff. There are more adjectives that I find more important when assessing parents of a school. Compassionate, involved, and motivated are some that come to bind.

I have no idea about the comparative intelligence of parents at various charters, but I am pretty sure you aren't the best judge. Fewer, not less.

I agree and I am an IT parent. However, I don't believe OP's s/o was intended to be IT specific but rather a poll of whether high intelligence amongst the community of families at your school was important to you.

I don't care as long as they are nice and involved. It'll be interesting to have a poll of what colleges are represented in the parent population at our charter just for fun. Today I saw a license plate saying alumna that was from the same seven sisters college I attended.

One poster wrote, "As for the "highly intelligent parent community", that is really not an important factor at all" regarding Inspired Teaching. I do not agree at all. The parents being highly intelligent will influence the school and will have an impact on the school.
