I did hypno-birthing and found it very beneficial/useful. It didnt' totally eliminate the pain but it was a very effective pain management technique. My step-father used it to quit smoking. He was a 3 pack a day guy and was able to quite cold turkey using hypnosis.

Very cool, do you think she could convince me I don't like chocolate?
Or cookies, for that matter...

Where I grew up in ma, there was a woman called the Russian hypnotist who people went to to quit smoking. I personally know 7 people who went and immediately stopped smoking. I've also heard her name thrown around by other people.

My mother successfully quit smoking using hypnosis.
i used hypno birthing for my second child and it was amazing. I really believe that fear-tension-pain cycle thing now. (ie, the fear creates tension which creates pain) I didn't feel a thing til very near the end.

I was hypnotized in college in front of an audience (basically my entire dorm) and made a complete fool of myself. Never again.

To lose weight, stop smoking, etc?
If so, what was your experience and outcome?
