My son was in a multi-age classroom for grades 1 and 2 - at a different school. The first year was tough because he was the youngest in the class and thus less mature than some of the older kids. I also think multi-age classrooms work best for kids who can work well without a lot of hand holding from the teacher. My son's second year was much better in part because he knew what to expect and the teacher and 1/2 of the kids knew him. All in all, we are happy with how it worked out.
