How about Palena in Cleveland Park? I think it's about $75/person for four courses, without wine. Metro friendly. Vegetarian friendly. Incredible food. Nice but not over the top fancy experience.

It might feel like your "last meal" but as they say on DCUM, hang in there because it gets better!

A wonderful friend offered to babysit our 4-year old overnight so that DH and I could sneak out to one last fancy dinner before our second child gets here (due in June). Thing is, we have NO idea where we want to go! We'd like something memorable; we don't get out very often and won't be able to get out much at all once baby's here because we don't have family in the area.

We did a 6-course tasting at Rasika last year that was AMAZING. We're looking for something similar to that. Since I'm pregnant, and DH is vegetarian (egg and dairy okay), we'd prefer to skip raw meat/fish. We're not particularly formal or fancy people either, so if there's great food in a more casual atmosphere, that would be ideal. Metro-friendly is a plus. This is a one-time splurge for us and we've budgeted accordingly.

Suggestions?
