I have to agree with the digging in the dirt above, but if I might add, get really, really dirty. Too many kids actually never experience it and it can be quite liberating.

My mom always baked cakes and managed to get EVERY LICK of icing out of the mixing bowl. I always wanted to take a spoon and just eat the batter!

Just helped at DS's school today for spring event and met a mom who had NEVER dug a hole in the dirt to plant a flower. Seemed like none of the kids had planted a flower before either, so on my bucket list for an 8 yr. old would be to work in the dirt and plant some things!

Pedicure --- NEVER!

We made a trip to disney world and that was excellent. We had great fun even though I would say that we are not in their 'target' market. Very glad to have brought my kids at the same time I don't see us going back - so much else in the world to see .... but i suppose that is the idea for a bucket list - things that are great to do at least once.

One thing we have done in the last year that was really big hit - black and white movies - totally blew my 6 year olds mind but she LOVED Roman Holiday and National Velvet.

This is a great idea for a thread..... love the camping in the backyard idea - will definitely do that this summer.

Play hooky from school and have an adventure day with Mom.

Pedicure at a shop (for DD and DS alike).

Tea at the Willard.

Camp in the backyard or have slumber party in the living room.

Get a locket (DD) or tags (DS) as special gift.

Hang out at Drum Circle in Malcolm X park. Dance.

See a popular movie that usually wouldn't be allowed. Get a big box of popcorn and watch a huge screen.

Check out the stars from some great vantage point, and learn some of the constellations.
