STRONG START/DC EARLY INTERVENTION DEVELOPMENTAL PLAYGROUPS
Is your child between the ages of 6 months and 4 years of age? Would you like him or her to participate in a weekly developmental playgroup offering activities to promote social interactions as well as emphasize growth in all developmental domains?
Strong Start Developmental Playgroups meet on a weekly basis in three different locations throughout the city --- in NW at Mary’s Center; in NE at the Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Institute; in SE at the Hill Center. All playgroup sessions are facilitated by a Special Educator, Physical Therapist, and an Occupational Therapist, each of which has extensive experience and understanding of infants and toddlers. Playgroup sessions include songs, read alouds, free play and multisensory activities geared toward your child’s developmental level. Interactions between caregivers and children are an essential part of the program, and parents and caregivers will be asked to remain for the duration of each group.
