last week. I haven't had a chance to set up an appointment, so I can't share any firsthand experiences.

New poster. Does anyone have any recommendation of a specific doctor? I really need to get this done and I can't seem to find a recommendation anywhere. OP - did you find anyone? Thanks in advance!

I had varicose vein surgery with Dr. Arora at GW. So far, I'm very happy with the results. I went to Georgetown for similar surgery the year before and was unhappy with the results.

I have similar coloring and have had it done several times over the last ten years. If you're talking mostly spider veins, dermatologists can handle the job fine. Plastic surgeons can take care of spiders veins, along with more prominent "blue" veins. If you have circulation problems and true varicose veins, then I recommend your going to a cardio-vascular surgeon. Not only is it usually safer/better, they can usually get insurance to cover much of the procedure.

Me too!
And for cosmetic reasons, can treatment treat large areas with minor spots?

I am 50 and fair skinned and my legs are so unsightly. I have done laser treatments on the spider veins, but the results were only temporary. I now have one cluster on the outside of my leg near my knee that is often painful. Has anyone dealt with this? What are the options, and can you recommend a specialist? Thanks.
