It is great. I took some 12 years olds who loved it.

In NoVa, have you been to the Heritage Farm Museum (Sterling)? It is lovely, small (so very manageable), and has some great hands-on things for kids K-6, at least.

Hey, great ideas! I never knew about the Aviation Museum in College Park but just checked it out online and it looks great for kids!

On the subject of kid-friendly museums, the Walters in Baltimore is great, too.

The little aviation museum in College Park has lots of artsy/craftsy stuff and hands-on exhibits.

There is a great math exhibit at the smithsonIan right now. The children's museum has that laUnch zone thing.

In the past couple of years, my kid (now 7) has gone to Playseum and liked it. We went a few months ago b/c she asked but she actually seemed bored after a short time.

She asked to go again recently b/c I think she remembers the past being fun, but I really think she's outgrown it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to an alternative? TIA.
