Sun spots tend to come out of nowhere.

I get my lasered off. It's sort of expensive ($250) but so worth it. I started in my early 30s - I have very fair skin - and just got the laser again earlier this year. I know I will have to to back in a year or two. Mine seem to disappear after one session and it literally takes like 2 minutes. Don't go to a spa, go to a dermatologist office where people are board certified to work the with the laser. Lots of places in the area do it.

They get darker at first, then peel off in a few days.

You don't have to lay out in the sun or spend a lot of time outdoors to have sun damage. Just walking from the car to the house day after day will add up eventually.
Your best defense is using facial moisturizer with sunscreen and hand lotion with sunscreen daily.

OP back ... Thanks for writing. Yes, it's a good observation that they are likely where maybe I didn't put sunscreen, and that part might be getting hit by sun when I drive or say if I'm wearing a hat and rim isn't blocking that part...

OP- I am 37 and my sun spots have appeared quite quickly too. Mine are around the outside of my face probably where I didn't put the sunscreen.

Well, you've had a lifetime of it though. Sun damage adds up.

Do they happen to be on the left side of your face, e.g., the side of your face that is more exposed to sun say when you drive?

OP here. I've heard that, but I didn't experience intense sun exposure earlier on. Curious if others have also observed such changes. Thanks.

Age spots revealing sun damage from your younger years show up on the face for many women in their 40s.

Last night, I noticed two small tiny spots, like a freckle (very light brown) on my face near my jawline. I don't believe ever having something like this form that quickly, literally overnight. Has anyone had this happen? I'm Caucasian, with medium-fair complexion, and over time I have developed such spots on my arms, or legs (not numerous, just usual accumulation, I think). I think this is a normal part of aging (I'm in my later 30s). I do try to be careful with using sunscreen when I'm out, and I'm not one who spends a lot of time in the sun. Maybe what's 'happened' is normal, but it's the first time such spots have appeared on my face.
