House centipedes are gross, but they eat other insects.

We used to have these constantly when we first moved in. We now run a dehumidifier in the baseman constantly and have totally gotten rid of spiders and other bugs. Haven't seen one in over a year (though now that I said that we'll probably have one tonight). They are the only bugs that make me physically ill. Ugh. Even looking at that picture makes me feel like throwing up. They are so fast and so big. Uhhhhhhhhhh

We get house centipedes in our apartment quite a bit - I think they come in through the pipes or the air conditioners but I'm not sure. They're after moisture.

So far they haven't been that bad this year. Last year we'd kill a few a day and some would be as big as my hand. I think they're fairly harmless just big, fast and kinda gross.

I caught a house centipede in a jar and fed it random bugs I found outside. The centipede always won.

The little one may not have been a baby centipede. As PP mentioned, house centipedes are actually predators. I think you may have interrupted its dinner.

House centipedes. They like moisture and eat spiders and other insects. They drive me crazy and are quick as hell. I read that the can sting, but it's not like they would seek you out to sting you. We have them and I've never benn stung.

they are silverfish, and by far the most disgusting of all insects.

I went down to get a drink of water and found that horrid hairy centi/millipede. What are those long haired things? Are they poisonous? I sprayed it with vinegar and water to stun it and then kill it. Before I got it it dropped a teeny tiny I assume baby mili.
