What is the 'new Woodson are'? Was there a redistricting of Woodson and if so, what area is now in that district?

Not at all. Probably a better place to invest now that some over-heated pocket of NW or North Arlington. Some of those buyers have tons of exposure.

If you are talking about Fairfax City, I can only guess. I bought in 2003 and watched things go up and up. They aren't at the 2006 level but I think they are above 2004--probably 2005. My neighborhood is older Cape Cod style homes and several ORIGINAL owners (from the early 50s) have recently died and their children have or are selling their homes. The houses have not been renovated in a long time and many are 3 bedroom, 1 bath. Those go for less because they require renovation and they can take longer to sell. However, similar houses that have already been updated and had more bathrooms installed are going very fast and definitely at 2005 prices.

That is funny! I wrote the post about Fairfax City and I often get flyers in the mail from Debbie Dogrul. I thought that might be who you meant and so I asked. I am not her but I am sure she is very happy with the way things are moving here in Fairfax!

We are in Fairfax City and the same is true here too. Houses are on the market less than two weeks if they are priced well. Some have gone under contract before the first open house. It is great!

we live in fall church (between 50 and 29) and this has been the case in our neighborhood. Nothing stays on the market longer than a week and things have even been going for above asking. Crazy!

That's great! I think the spring peak selling season is about to officially start. Are you guys in Woodson? We're in North Arlington - everything good here that is priced correctly is selling within a week.

Wow, we have seen three homes, all in various conditions, but decent, sell on our street very quickly. All within a weekend, or even at the open house! This is normally not a face moving area, is this happening everywhere? I don't think everyone is getting asking price, but not really low either.
