I suspect that people who have an objection to this just can't handle kids who are actually integrating all on their own. Maybe one day they will vote to change the name of the club to the Student Union. Shocking.

Only true in some environments. If you really believed this you might ask why there was a BSU for a white kid to lead in the first instance.

There are no quotas at TJ but the subject comes up a lot. Our kid is mixed and we also list him as multi/mixed/ or other when that is a choice. They really feel a need to segregate people into boxes but can't admit they do... It drives the bureaucrats crazy, it's fun to watch them squirm.....

Sounds like the kids voted for their President, so I have no problem with it. Sounds like he's done a lot to earn it.

He was elected president, not assigned the position. It seems right that the club can elect their own president. Or would you like the school to vet the candidates?

It's odd, but the students in the club voted for him, so I don't think it's up to adults on the outside to second guess who can be elected to lead their club.

I'm sure it was good for his college applications for Harvard and Princeton. Not so great for the black students turned away from TJ.
