I'm reviving this old thread as I prep for my HH trip. Any must do items (restaurants, activities) - I have two kids (1 and 4) and will be there a week.

Thank you everyone. I've stayed in Palmetto Dunes before, and while it's beautiful, I get sick of driving everywhere. I'll check out Sea Pines.

I have been to HH many times, with my kids when they were brand new, to being teenagers. Sea Pines is by far the best plantation IMO. Not sure how old yours are, but to be able to walk around Harbour Town, South Beach, etc, all the bike trails, the gators, and great beach access with a good beach club, that is the way to go.

Although, I am a big fan of Disney's HH Resort. I really think that staying in Sea Pines is a better option. The beaches are nicer and there is a greater supply of accomodations, oceanfront, ocean view, golf course view, harbor area. And plus there is dining, activities, etc. in Sea Pines. Disney is just Disney with only condo options.

Disney Resort on Hilton Head. It's really great. My kids loved it. It's tucked in. You would not know that it was there.
