Chocolate covered strawberries. Dry them on parchment and they'll be beautiful. You can dust with a white chocolate drizzle or sprinkles or nuts to "fancy" them.

If you're crafty:
Get some sticks (WF will have bamboo ones, most likely).

On the sticks, spear:
cubes of pound cake
strawberries
pineapple chunks
grapes
marshmallows
any of the above dipped in melted white or milk or dark chocolate

Oh hells yeah Easy, reasonably healthy, and will be super cute. Think I'll use a few peeps for marshmallows, to up the cute factor.
AND i can do this while watching Revenge. Double points.

Trifle. Make the pudding and put in one container. Make the cake and put in another. Layer when you get there. I'm thinking something like a lemon blueberry would be great this time of year. Mmmmm. Gives me ideas for our easter.

For kids, you could do those cute rice krispie treats in egg shapes that you stick m&ms inside. You can find those recipes on the rice krispies website.

Cookies or brownies. You can decorate sugar cookies In Easter pastels or even with spring-related decorations if you feel ambitious!

Some kind of layered bars, such as lemon bars

If you don't think it'll survive the car ride -
this definitely will. It's super sweet and soooo good - and easy enough to make

I guess it's that time of year. We are on the hook for dessert(s) of some kind. Here are the rules:
-I WOH FT and have a 14 mo old. Time I have to shop: Saturday AM. Time I have to actively prepare: Sat nap (2 hr), Sat pm, early Sunday AM.
-Cheesecake is already on the menu.
-No boxed mix, prepackaged cake, or cool whip. Must be able to get all ingredients at WF.
-no allergies (YAY! If this was for DH's family there would be a long list of no-no's here)
-must survive a 1.5 hour car ride with little to no refrigeration
-a small amount of prep at the party house (ie bring everything in sep containers and assemble) is fine.
-a mix of adults and very young kids (oldest are 8)
-this is not the "olive oil and orange flower essence" kind of family
-something easily dividable would be best, so that people can take some leftovers. I really, really want to avoid bringing a half of X home with us bc I will eat it!

So hit me with your best shot. I am feeling totally uncreative right now and could use some suggestions!
