Harbor is known as an inclusive school where a small number of kids with special needs learn side by side with typically developing children. It's a beautiful thing and everyone benefits from inclusion.

My older child has special needs. Would you prefer segregation of education?

Former parent here. Harbor is a warm and welcoming school and they consider whether the child is a good fit for a particular class rather than rely on straight testing. As such, it's not a surprise that some children with special needs would wind up there. It speaks well of the school's admissions process, curriculum, and community -- all of which we were very happy with when we were there (which is up until relatively recently).

Not the one in Baltimore. The one in Bethesda on Bradley Boulevard. Sorry about the spelling.

Are you talking about the Harbour School (that's the spelling) in Baltimore and Annapolis that has a special needs mission? Totally different from the Harbor School in Bethesda.
